Nearly 150 bikers came out to support Alzheimer’s San Diego at the first-ever SD Rides4ALZ. The 100-mile motorcycle ride was the brainchild of SDG&E President Scott Drury, whose mother is living with Alzheimer’s disease.

Thanks to the generosity of the community, the event raised close to $75,000. We’d like to pay a special THANK YOU to our incredible sponsors: SDG&E, San Diego Harley-Davidson, Shea Realty, Local Union No. 569, NRG Energy, Pro Tool and Equipment, PAR Electrical Contractors, EDCO, Ethertronics, Tenaska, IBEW Local 47, Diamond Generating Corporation and A. M. Ortega General Engineering Contractor, Inc.

One hundred percent of those donations will stay here in San Diego County, supporting local families and research for a cure.

KUSI’s Dave Scott came out to help promote the ride, and even hopped on the back of a hog himself! Watch the full segment below.
