Paul Loska is no stranger to the world of motorcycles – he’s been around them his entire life.

“As a kid, my stepdad had all manner of Harleys, Triumphs, 650’s, and Indians around the garage,” the former U.S. Marine says. “I started riding dirt bikes at 7 years old when I got a Honda 50 dirt bike.”

Today, Paul has upgraded to a Dual Sport KTM 500 bike, which he uses regularly around San Diego to ride with friends and participate in charity events like Rides4ALZ.

Paul and his business partner, Carl Skaja, own ICON Utility Services, and were moved by the mission of Alzheimer’s San Diego. After participating in the ride in 2017, they knew they wanted to become more involved. This year, ICON decided to take on the title sponsorship for the event.

This isn’t the first cause Paul has championed. As a Marine, he has seen firsthand the physical and mental effects of combat. He founded the Southern California chapter of the PTSD Foundation of America.

“I’ve always had a special place in my heart for the vulnerable,” he explains.

Paul partnered with Warrior Built and Monster Energy Drink to create a safe place for veterans that helps them learn to manage their PTSD in a healthy way. The organization has done phenomenal work in San Diego, which has the largest concentration of active-duty service members and veterans in the United States. “This is the stuff that matters. Giving back matters more than work or anything else we do,’’ Paul says. “God’s given me the tools to contribute, I can’t ignore that. Honestly, it’s easy when it comes from the heart.”
