10th Anniversary Celebration Photos + Recap

Last month, Alzheimer’s San Diego held a 10th anniversary celebration to commemorate the decade of our service to the local community. We were joined by numerous faces who had a significant impact during the founding of the organization, and plenty of others who have been crucial to the success of the team throughout the decade. They have helped us maintain our focus of concentrating on local needs, with all funds being kept right here in San Diego County.

The celebration was accompanied by the unveiling of our new logo. This branding visually represents our connection, dedication, and commitment to San Diego as a local and independent nonprofit.

We were honored that San Diego City Council President & District 1 Councilmember Joe LaCava was in attendance to share the proclamation from the City of San Diego (put together with help from Councilmember Raul A. Campillo from District 7), declaring December 3rd, 2025 as “Alzheimer’s San Diego 10th Anniversary Day.” Michael Kulis, Senior Policy Manager from the Office of Supervisor Joel Anderson, was also present to share the proclamation from the County of San Diego. On top of this, the day was proclaimed in the State of California, thanks to California State Senator Dr. Akilah Weber Pierson and State Assemblymember Chris Ward.

More speakers throughout the night included Bill Smith, who spoke on the early days of the organization and how it has evolved since then. Carlo Cecchetto, our Board Chair and a CBS 8 Anchor, spoke about the moment Alzheimer’s San Diego is in and the progress that’s been made in recent years. And finally, President & CEO Eugenia Welch touched on the significance of this anniversary, the new logo, what’s to come for the organization, and how we’ll continue to step up for families in need throughout our community.
