Rides4ALZ 2025 Recap + Photos

The early morning San Diego fog accompanied an electric excitement as riders began arriving at ICON Utility Services for the 9th annual Rides4ALZ. With about 190 participants and around $113,000 raised, this event has made a huge impact on the thousands of people in San Diego County living with memory loss and their unpaid caregivers.

Thank you to all of the riders, passengers, after party guests, donors, and sponsors who made this event a success! Read on to learn more about this incredible event.

Kickstands Up

The morning started with Clint August from 101.5 KGB kicking off the event as participants began trickling into the starting location to line up and pick up their fundraising incentives– t-shirts, patches, pins, phone holders, and more! After enjoying coffee and doughnuts provided by our friends at Home Instead, lots of mingling between new and old friends, and a quick safety briefing, the riders revved their engines and prepared for their journey. It was quite a sight to see (and hear) our awesome community of supporters take off under the iconic Alzheimer’s San Diego arch on their way out to see some beautiful views.

Views from the Ride

The morning might have started out gloomy, but as the riders took off for the 117-mile ride, the sun came out in full force to cheer them on. San Diego County never disappoints as one of the most beautiful and scenic places for a ride. The course took riders through Blossom Valley and across Sweetwater River before turning west at Horsethief Canyon Trailhead. As riders rolled into Jamul, they enjoyed a Pit Stop at Pio Pico RV Park with refreshments sponsored by Meruelo Enterprises and Neal Electric. Riders then felt the ocean breeze as they coasted over the Coronado Bridge before finally arriving at AleSmith for the after party!

After Party Fun!

Marty from 91x emceed the after party event and kept the excitement and energy up as people enjoyed delicious AleSmith beer and food from Rudy’s Tacos. Lucky after party guests won amazing prizes through the opportunity drawing including an XTion E-Bike, tickets to a Padres vs. Giants game, and a two night stay at the Hard Rock Cafe in Atlantic City, NJ! To cap off an incredible day, Alzheimer’s San Diego presented the top fundraising team of the event, San Diego Harley-Davidson Owners (HOGs), with the winning trophy once again!

Thank you to all who came out to support the thousands of people affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias in San Diego County. Check out all the photos from the event below.
