Meet Steve Garcia. Every year, he rides his 2017 Harley Davidson Lowrider S in the Rides4ALZ, a fundraising event in support of the 84,000 San Diegans living with dementia. The Ride is very personal to Steve. He’s already lost two great grandparents to Alzheimer’s, and now his grandmother is also in the beginning stages of the disease.

The cause is so important to him, he got his business, Patriot General Engineering, involved as official sponsors of the event. Keep reading to find out why he chooses to participate year after year.

Q: How has Rides4ALZ changed over the years?

A: It continues to grow in riders.  The event is well-coordinated and easy for beginner riders like me. Good times all around and it’s also a great networking event with like-minded people.

Q: What would you tell anyone on the fence about doing the ride?

A: Do it! It’s a safe and friendly event, and is welcoming to all riders with fun personable attendees.  It’s my favorite ride of the year!

Q: Why is it important for you to support a local organization?

A: We feel it is our duty as a local diverse business to give back to the community we serve.  We are very fortunate to be able to run a healthy business and feel obligated to help out as many local nonprofits as we can!
